Hong Kong to host Jeanneau Christmas Cup
9/12/23, 2:30 am
Shek O Rock will be the base for the first Jeanneau Christmas Cup, which will be held on December 10 and have a fancy dress contest.
Hong Kong’s Cruiser Owners Association (COA) and Jeanneau dealer China Pacific Marine are organising the first Jeanneau Christmas Cup, which will be held near Shek O on December 10.
The one-day event is the ninth annual COA Christmas Cup, with Jeanneau sponsoring it as the French builder continues to support sailing and cruising in local waters. All Jeanneau sailing yachts are invited to join the event and compete in the special Jeanneau Class.
The day will start with a rally from each yacht’s home mooring or berth before the fleet assembles near Shek O Rock for a race, with HKPN and IRC corrected time results used for the COA 2022 Championship Series scoring.
The one-day sailing competition will feature a Christmas theme, with participants encouraged to dress up festively in the hope of winning ‘Best Costume’, while other prize categories include ‘HKPN’, ‘Most Number of Crew’ and ‘Least Number of Crew’.
Interested Jeanneau owners and skippers are required to submit their application for entry here on or before December 3. The prize ceremony will be held in February 2023 and will include awards for the Jeanneau Class.
