Event Schedule
Race to Macau – Day 1 (Thursday, 1 October)
The rally begins with the offshore passage from Hong Kong to Macau. Boats will start in the morning from an area northwest of Lamma Island, setting a westward course through the southern waters of Hong Kong toward Macau.
This opening leg offers a rewarding challenge, with crews navigating busy shipping channels and variable coastal conditions on their way across the Pearl River Delta to the finish.
Lay Day in Macau – Day 2 (Friday, 2 October)
Following the first leg, crews will enjoy a lay day in Macau.
This provides an opportunity to unwind, explore the city, and enjoy time ashore with fellow sailors. From historic architecture and cultural landmarks to Macau’s renowned dining scene, the lay day remains a highlight of the rally experience.
Race Back to Hong Kong – Day 3 (Saturday, 3 October)
The rally concludes with the return passage to Hong Kong.
Crews will set off from Macau and sail eastward back across the Pearl River Delta. The final leg presents another tactical test, as teams adapt to the prevailing conditions and make the most of the autumn winds on their return journey.
Weather Expectations
Early October typically brings more moderate temperatures and stable conditions compared to the summer months. Northeasterly winds may begin to establish, offering different tactical considerations for both legs of the rally.
