The COA Discovery Bay Pursuit Rally is a standout event in the association’s overnight stay series, combining competitive sailing with a relaxed and sociable stopover.

Sailed as a pursuit rally, boats start at staggered times based on their respective handicaps, creating a dynamic race format where the fleet converges towards the finish. This ensures an exciting and closely contested finish, with positions often decided in the final moments on the water.

The rally takes crews across Hong Kong waters to Discovery Bay, where participants are welcomed ashore at the Lantau Yacht Club. Facilities include wet berths and accommodation, offering a comfortable and convenient overnight stay for all crews .

Following the race, sailors can unwind and enjoy an evening together, with a buffet dinner and the opportunity to relax, share stories from the day’s racing, and take in the unique setting of Discovery Bay.

Blending tactical racing, close finishes, and a social overnight experience, the Discovery Bay Pursuit Rally remains a firm favourite on the COA calendar.
