Lunar New Year Macau Race 2012

FINAL RESULTS

A quick note to remind you that this is the first race for our new Macau Race Trophy - 16th January

This perpetual Trophy will be awarded every year to the winner of the three or four Macau Races combined, calculated under the HKPN handicap system. The winner will receive the Trophy at the end of the season (from a Lunar New Year to the other) and the name of the boat will be engraved on the Trophy. The Trophy will then be kept in a display cabinet in a Yacht Club (ABC or RHKYC -  still to be determined) until it is claimed by a new winner the following year.

Boats without an HKPN handicap can however not claim the Trophy. Please contact the HKPN Committee to obtain an HKPN Handicap.

Good luck Ladies and Gentlemen !

IMPORTANT NOTE - 4TH JANUARY 2012

This is the new Macau Immigration form. Those of you who have already submitted the paperwork to Myrna, please send a new one.

Also, both the Hong Kong and the Macau Immigration and Custom Authorities now require that you present the boat Operating License and the Ownership Certificate. Please send a copy of these two documents to Myrna so we can complete your file, and make sure you have them with you when presenting the immigration and custom clearance forms in HK and Macau. Thanks.

Notice of Race

Sailing Instructions

Entry Form

This year again, we draw your attention on Sections 9.2, 9.3 and 10.2 : on the Declaration Form, you shall report the actual GPS time and position you are at the Cut-off or at the Finish, and NOT the position you wish you were at the time you wish you had been there. If you are not within the SI requirements at the Finish, then tack or gybe and try again. Please double check the position you report on the Forms. Boats not submitting the declaration form on time will be disqualified.

Also, please pay attention to the friendly reminder from the HKPN committee about the PIPS and the consequences for cheating (yes, that is what it is called).

You can also download the  new Macau Immigration forms and the Hong Kong Marine Department and Immigration Clearance forms so you can prepare these in advance or gather all necessary documents to fill these in with the help of the Custom Officers. You must prepare and submit 2 originals of each.

We have opened a Crew Board in the main menu, so have a look if you are looking for crews or boats or let us know if you are looking for hands.

Also, it would be a good idea to start looking for places to stay and book your hotel rooms. The Chinese New Year is a very popular time in Macau as well, and hotel rooms can be hard to find and last minute rates sky high for the late comers.

We have received some great pictures of the Dragon Boat Festival race last year, and hope you enjoyed seeing them posted on the website. Please send us more at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ! Thanks.
